1 month update

We closed a little over a month ago now.  Tim has done a ton of back breaking demo while we patiently {hahahahaha} wait for our permits.

This is a 2 part walk thru of the demo progress:

This next video, I need some opinions.  I know you all have them.  Please share!  This little part of the kitchen won't be completed until after we've moved in.  That's give us time to live in the space before decisions are made, but it might change what we do with the laundry room, so I'm trying to make a plan now.  Take a  look and let me know!

  1. Hi Amy,

Love the house and space. Making progress!

My 2 cents - that space is quite small and when the kitchen and all cabinets are installed, the space will feel even more constrained. I recommend leaving that space alone/open and you can potentially put a circular kitchen table in that area. Use that back area beyond the laundry room for an office/drop zone. I think leaving that space open gives you more flexibility and options. You can always put a stand alone desk against the wall that faces the front yard if you want a desk in that space, while providing the flexibility to move it in the future.

Can't wait to visit! Slumber party for the boys!

    Aloha,
    Keoki

  2. Or does that wall that separates the kitchen from the living area come down all together after the permits are approved? If yes, and that space is wide open, I think a corner built-in desk would look nice and be functional.

    1. Yes, that wall will be gone, but you are also right that it may feel constrained. I like the idea of having the drop station out of sight and in the laundry room, but having a built in desk in the kitchen would be more helpful. Basically, I'm all over the place. I think once the cabinets are in ill be able to get a better feel for it.

  3. I agree with keoki....leave it so that you can move stuff around. I'd rather have an area out of the kitcgem for desk stuff. It's easier to hide my junk!!

Love the color of the roses in the front by the way. So pretty!

    1. The roses are beautiful, but a wild mess! I've read up on pruning and maintaining so hopefully I'll get a handle on them.
